Garlic??????????????

Written by admin on February 15, 2010 – 8:42 pm -

Is it true that those who eat garlic regularly adapt and do not produce ‘garlic breath’ and garlic BO?
Also, do those who eat a lot of garlic lose the ability to detect garlic fumes emanating off of other people?

This is a serious question.

No, more likely is that they, themselves, get used to it and don’t notice that they smell like garlic.

So, that may mean “yes” for the second half of your question.

I believe that to be kinda true.

I love to cook with and eat garlic. It’s a staple for seasoning. Works great adding flavor as a way to NOT use sodium. But….garlic does produce an odor that is detectable nonetheless. But…..as with all odors, you become accustomed to them each time you are exposed to them. Meaning, you smell it at first but then, as you get used to it, you don’t smell it anymore. Kinda like only tasting the first 2 beers…LOL.

Could be worse though. Garlic aroma is still way better than any body funk caused by poor hygiene.

Queen’s parsley hint is spot on, to a point….LOL

No, I’m pretty sure they still smell of garlic, it’s gonna come out in your breath and pores no matter what you do. But those who do eat a lot of garlic tend not to notice it in others. That’s why when you’re on a date and want something garlicky, make sure your date orders it, too! :)
We love it in my house. I try to make garlicky meals on the nights when we don’t have much going on the next day, lol.

I use garlic a lot, maybe more than I should But I have never been called “garlic breath” nor has someone told me that I smelled of garlic. As for other people, I don’t mind mind the smell of it on people as long as they don’t stink from something else. Actually, I am more sensitive to strong perfume odors.

parsley works as one poster suggested but a couple of double scotches work better in my case..

if you want to get rid of garlic smell from your hands/fingers, rub your hands/fingers on a stainless/aluminum sink (if you have one) or any stainless/aluminum kitchen stuff..the smell goes away asap even without washing
