Smelly Urine?
Written by admin on March 17, 2010 – 1:00 pm -Lately i noticed my urine has a stinky smell to it
I think i have a bladder infection
As i need the urinate often and it burns
Could that be the cause of my smelly urine?
But i read that vitamins make your urine smell
I have been taking Cod Liver oil
and Vitamins and Minerals
This contains
Vitamin: A & B6 & B12 & C
Folacin, Pantothenic acid , niacin, riboflavin and thiamin
Is those causing smelly urine?
Should i stop taking them

My urine is cloudy…. Hopefully looking for a medical pro to offer input here…?
Written by admin on July 24, 2009 – 12:48 pm -For the past week or so I’ve noticed that my urine appears cloudy. It isn’t concentrated / dark yellow and I drink tea and water all day, so I know it isn’t dehydration. I don’t have other urinary symptoms like frequency or burning or pain – no hematuria – no unusual odor – nothing out of the ordinary except that I look down before I flush and say, "Hey! That’s cloudy!" I have had stressed-induced stomach issues for the past couple years, probably just an ulcer on top of a not-no-sensible diet, but through all that at its worst, my urine was never affected. So this is weird. Does anyone know what this cloudiness could mean?
Forgot to mention I’m a 33 y/o female. So my prostrate has never been better… ![]()
According to the website "when you need to worry about cloudy urine."
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/455919/when_you_need_to_worry_about_cloudy.html
If you have no pain, blood, frequenct etc.
This is what it says.
phosphate crystals can build up in your urine. These crystals then precipitate and make your urine cloudy. This typically happens after eating a large meal, or sometimes after drinking milk, which is high in phosphate. You can test to see if your urine cloudiness is due to phosphates. Simply take a small sample of your urine and drop a bit of acetic acid (vinegar) in to it. If it is phosphates, the urine will become completely clear immediately.
Hope this helps.

Cats and valerian
Written by admin on July 24, 2009 – 12:45 pm -
According to Wikipedia:
“An unusual feature of valerian is that the essential oil of valerian root is a cat attractant similar to catnip. The active compound in valerian for this is actinidine. Cat attractants might mimic the odor of cat urine which is caused by 3-mercapto-3-methylbutan-1-ol (MMB). Anecdotes state that valerian is also attractive to rats, so much so that it had been used to bait traps. Some versions of the legend of the Pied Piper of Hamelin have him using valerian, as well as his pipes, to attract the rats. This might be related to the change of aversion into attraction to cat urine in rats infected with the parasite Toxoplasma gondii.
Valerian’s effect on cats is featured as a clue in two works by Agatha Christie.”
This is a funny episode where my cats discover my husband’s valerian, which he uses for his sleeping troubles.
The effect was even longer than shown in the video, they spent all day sniffing the blanket, sleeping and purring happily.
Duration : 0:2:59
