How do I get rid of genital odor, what is the underlying cause?

Written by admin on July 24, 2009 – 12:48 pm -

I believe I’ve found that my body odor has been coming from the genital / pubic area – I wash with soap regularly, and shave – Is there any ways I can help to lessen the smell, or rid of it all together – could there be some underlying cause?

I noticed that i got some odor down there at age 13 but then want away… At the time i did the same thing tht u r doing, asked around online, but i finally found tht putting deodorant around it may help… It helped me, and asking around 4 me didnt reli help, i kinda found this out by myself… So good luck, i kno its sounds a lil odd but it does help

When you perspiree you are getting wet causing odor. Try showing more or wearing tighty whities undies. Dry off completely and use a body spray. This should help

have you tried anti-bacterial soap ? or after a shower apply talcum powder ( make your your genital area is really dry before you apply )

The causes are maybe that you are sweating a lot which has bacteria

Maybe you need to wear looser clothes. Get more air to your genitals so sweat don’t build up there.

Or you could use the same antiperspirant idea I mentioned to you with the armpitt odour problem.

Have you been showering regularly? If not, then that’s obviously the problem right there.

If you have been showering though and it’s still like that, then probably your body just produces a lot of sweat and therefore bacteria from this sweat is what causes the odour (especially around those moist areas like underarms and genital regions).

Also, what you eat can cause the odour as well. Some foods contain certain chemicals that could come out in your sweat too.

Visit your doctor and ask (my cousin fixed his odour problem from visiting his doctor).

Don’t think you have to worry about underlying anything. We all sweat, and to different degrees… How many people are coming up to you and sniffing your privates? Relax already, it’s ok to sweat, it’s not ok to give up bathing when you perspire a great deal

You could try some baby powder or medicated powder, such as Ammen’s Powder, after bathing, that works great along with normal hygiene and bathing, that should take care your problem. Good luck.

I think you’re doing the right thing with the regular washing. but it might be the shaving that is causing the problem,

i tried shaving ‘there’ once and noticed that i felt more sweaty and smelt worse. its because the hair helps disperse the sweat
