it’s not unusual for guest to come over to my house, step in cat feces, and leave?
Written by admin on October 4, 2010 – 3:59 pm -most of the time i don’t like cleaning out the cat litter box (i forget, or i just get lazy) so the cat will go on the floor, my cat has loose stool so to avoid cleaning it i rub it in the carpet with my slippers, however…now i’m starting to regret doing so because i only have 1 friend that will come over that doesn’t complain, i tried having a cookout this weekend and the people who came stayed for 5 minutes, didn’t eat, and didn’t give a reason why they left. I feel it’s the stains in the carpet, now that i’ve learned my lesson for real, is there any good remedies for stain and odor removal…not so much as stain removal because my carpets are brown, but there def. no need to replace the carpet because there’s only 14 pile stains, any help would be greatly appreciated, I feel i can’t ever have people over anymore. please help, i’m desperate!

Cats and valerian

According to Wikipedia:
“An unusual feature of valerian is that the essential oil of valerian root is a cat attractant similar to catnip. The active compound in valerian for this is actinidine. Cat attractants might mimic the odor of cat urine which is caused by 3-mercapto-3-methylbutan-1-ol (MMB). Anecdotes state that valerian is also attractive to rats, so much so that it had been used to bait traps. Some versions of the legend of the Pied Piper of Hamelin have him using valerian, as well as his pipes, to attract the rats. This might be related to the change of aversion into attraction to cat urine in rats infected with the parasite Toxoplasma gondii.
Valerian’s effect on cats is featured as a clue in two works by Agatha Christie.”
This is a funny episode where my cats discover my husband’s valerian, which he uses for his sleeping troubles.
The effect was even longer than shown in the video, they spent all day sniffing the blanket, sleeping and purring happily.
