What does it mean if he has really smelly urine?

Written by admin on July 23, 2009 – 3:39 pm -

My son has been sick for about a week. he is 7 months. Today his urine smelled really bad, like an old man diaper. The past few days he had a recurring fever, and vomited once. He seems fussy at times and is making high pitched sounds that he never used to as of recent. Could it be related to teething? He is also constipated… please help me

Please dont just say please see doctor we are going to see doctor tomorrow. thx

If you are going to see the doctor, then there isn’t much we can do for you – but it sounds to me that he is in pain I’d I try to see someone today (at like a Urgent Care or with his regular doctor). He might have an urinary tract infection, or just be very sick.

Sounds like a Kidney infection to me. . . fever, vomiting, strong urine. Get him to the doctor ASAP as it won;t get better without antibiotics.

It could be teething and the pee smell could be the cold coming out. The new sounds could be just his way of saying he is THAT uncomfortable from the cold.

A strong urine smell is a classic symptom of a bladder infection or kidney infection. (If it smells like a men’s room at the bar, it isn’t normal for a baby!) Get the little guy to a doctor.

When I had this problem recently my doc told me the bacteria that caused my infection also were related to kidney stones. Go as soon as possible.
