Smelly Urine?

Written by admin on March 17, 2010 – 1:00 pm -

Lately i noticed my urine has a stinky smell to it
I think i have a bladder infection
As i need the urinate often and it burns
Could that be the cause of my smelly urine?
But i read that vitamins make your urine smell
I have been taking Cod Liver oil
and Vitamins and Minerals
This contains
Vitamin: A & B6 & B12 & C
Folacin, Pantothenic acid , niacin, riboflavin and thiamin
Is those causing smelly urine?
Should i stop taking them

B Vitamins cause stinky urine and it will turn it bright yellow. Not a cause for alarm.

If you have severe burning/frequency of urination go to the doc for a test. Men are much less likely to get UTI’s.

    Go see a doctor, immediately.

These symptoms could be a UTI, bladder infection or gonorrhea.

Taking vitamins will generally make your pee more yellow and yes smelly. But the burning is not normal. if it continues go see a doctor as infection is possible. Try stopping the vitamins for a while and see if the symptoms continue.

Sometimes Vitamin B complex can make your urine bright yellow and give it a vitamin scent. It shouldnt stink, or make you got to the bathroom anymore than usual. Neither should it burn. Thats not normal. Try drinking a ton of Cranberry juice for a couple days and see if the burning and urge to pee starts to reduce. If it does, then you know you got either a bladder infection or urinary tract infection. Continue drinking lots of water and cranberry till it goes away. If you do not see an improvement after a couple days, you should go to the doctor to get antibiotics. A bladder infection is a pretty minor thing and can be cured easy, but if let go and not treated, it can become pretty serious. It can start to infect your kidneys and liver.
